3rd - 4th November 2017 // Modern Body Structure Repair in Top Diversified Sdn Bhd, Taiping, Perak



Under the collaboration among PROATEC eSKILL and MOTORDATA RESEARCH CONSORTIUM SDN BHD, a two-day Modern Body Structure Repair training course was successfully organized from 3rd until 4th November 2017, starting from 9:00am until 5:00pm in Top Diversified Sdn Bhd (Authorised Proton Edar Body & Paint) in Taiping, Perak.
This training course is specially requested by the top management of AmGeneral Insurance Berhad, with the main objective is to expose its senior claim managers and assistant managers on the standard accident vehicle repair process.

 
Who Attended
A total of 33 senior claim managers supply chain, assistant managers OD claim, asisstant managers loss survey, assistant managers 3rd party claim etc.

Case Study Assigned (with several different tasks)
Participants have to complete the case study assigned within 90 minutes
  1. Identify Spare Parts & Terminology
    • ​​There are a total of 84 spare parts displayed on the table. Participants have to identify the spare parts and provide the names based on the Merimen system and franchise names.
  2. M.E.T. Remove and Refit
    • ​​Participants are required to dismantle the M.E.T. on front bumper, front door RH, rear door LH and boot compartment.
    • Subsequently, they have to refit the M.E.T. back 
  3. Vehicle Body Measurement
    • ​​Participants are required to use tram gauge to carry out measurement on body vehicles (centre, rear and undercarriage)
  4. Vehicle Body Aligning & Pulling
    • ​​Participants are required to set the vehicle on body alignment system, secure it with clamps and install the chain.
    • Subsequently, carry out initial pull and cold repair 
  5. Vehicle Body Sectioning & Welding
    • ​​Participants have to carry out body sectioning on coupon test using air saw. Subsequently, they have to weld it back.
    • Participants also have to carry out different types of welding such as braze weld, plug weld and identify which are the best welds. In this process, participants' welds also going thru destructive test.
    • In this section, participants also carry out dolly & hammer and repair using dent puller machine.
  6. Vehicle Body Preparation & Spraying
    • ​​Participants are required to apply putty and carry out dry sanding on the door panel
    • Participants also carry out water spraying test

How the trainin
g is conducted
  1. All the 33 participants will be separated into 6 teams. In order to make the training more enjoyable, we named the teams based on Avengers characters; Hulk, Thor, Ironman, Antman, Hawkeye and Captain America. 
  1. Before the training starts, each team needs to assign a leader. The leader's main responsibility is to ensure his team members are cooperatives, be punctual at all times, follow the coach's instructions and able to complete the case studies assigned.
  2. There are 6 case studies and the 6 teams need to complete the case studies during the 2-day training.
  3. The 6 teams will be allocated at six different stations where each station, a coach is there to guide them, what is the case study they are required to do. One case study has several different tasks, therefore each member needs to complete the task individually in order to complete the case study within the stipulated time given (90 minutes per case). During the process, the coach will also explain the important points of the process and information.
  4. Once the time is over, the teams will have to go to the next station to complete the next case study assigned.
  5. At the end of the 2-day training, a summary on findings / outcomes on the participants performance will be briefed.
  6. Before the training ends, there is a Objective Questions and the participants need to complete, to evaluate their understanding on the 2-day training.
